Updates all around
Time to dust off the old blahg for an update, I suppose.
Let’s see. First, the cloak I wrote about in my last entry was a hit at the Renaissance Fair. Tracey wore hers, too, and together we dorked out at the festival. Despite the pouring rain, it was all fun and games until the part where I got sick and vomited in front of God and everyone (the cloak was unharmed).
Zoë turned one year old on Monday. To celebrate, we took her to Petsmart to buy a couple of new toys and some treats. We met a very talkative Asian woman who told us we should have babies, but “dogs are much easier. And cheaper.” Zoë seemed highly unimpressed with the celebrations, but she did manage to destroy one of her two new toys within an hour of getting home from the store. I also made a Blurb.com book of pictures from her first year (dorky, I know, but also cute). That should be getting printed soon–I’ll let you know how it turns out.
My grandfather passed away a few weeks ago. The week he died was one of the saddest, roughest weeks in recent history. He’s not suffering anymore, though, and that’s sort of a relief. My family’s life is slowly getting back to normal–Dad is on the mend, too. Thanks to everyone who send well wishes our way recently.
Josh grew some stuff in his garden, and then we ate it. Well, the lettuce at least. Also some tomatoes. Josh seems to be able to grow stuff, whereas I am a bit challenged in the gardening department. I am doing good to keep my one citronella houseplant alive.
I haven’t really sewed much recently. I did sew a couple of stuffed animals that came out kind of cute. I found the pattern on Etsy.com, my most favorite place in the Internet world. I would show you a pic except that one of the toys is a baby gift, and I’m not sure if the giftee reads this blog or not. I’ll show you after the baby shower, which is on Sunday. I promise it’s cute.
Josh and I are going to San Francisco in a few weeks for a conference/vacation. He’s going to a conference, but I’ll be just living it up in San Fran. I plan on hitting up coffee shops, reading books, and traipsing around while he’s busy. We tacked on a couple of days at the end to do some sight-seeing. So should be fun. I’m definitely ready for a vacation. Oh, and while we’re in San Fran, we will be seeing the B-52s in concert at the conference’s big finale party. I am super stoked about that because I am a big fan of the B-52s.
I think that about does it for super new and exciting news from the Gnomograms front.

Go to a Giants game, the tickets cant be that expensive and you can probably walk to the stadium from where it’s located downtown. I heard its a pretty cool park.
What’s a “Giant’s game?”
When are y’all going to San Fran? I’m super jealous! You two are going to have a blast I’m sure. Ya know if you need me to I can totally come and keep you company why Josh is at his conferences. Just saying…wouldn’t mind at all.
San Francisco Giants
They are a baseball team.
What’s a “baseball game?”
oops, I mean “baseball team”
The Giant Stadium is pretty cool. Before we were married, April’s family, April and I went there to visit her uncle. At Giant Stadium is where I asked her Dad for permission to marry April. He said “If the Giants win you can.”
